	For your planning purposes, a common formula for estimating transcription time is: For simple transcription, recording time x 4 to 6 = transcription time. For complex transcription, recording time x 5 to 7 = transcription time. For example, a simple one-hour tape will take approximately 4 to 6 hours to transcribe. Please note, variables such as subject matter, accents, fidelity of the recording, etc., can affect the transcription time.
